Gynecomastia (Male breast reduction)

Procedure:

reduces increased breast with female aspect in men by removing fatty and glandular tissue though lipoplasty or surgical resection.

Duration:

1 to 2 hours.

Anesthesia:

local, epidural with sedation or general in some cases.

Hospital admission:

Discharge usually on the same day, some hours after the surgery.

Side effects:

temporary pain, swelling, numbing and burning sensation.

Risks:

infection, seroma (fluid accumulation), hematoma, asymmetries, ripple on the skin, pigment alteration, abnormal scarring.

Recovery:

return to work in 1 week.

Physical activities (sports):

2 months.

Driving:

3 weeks.

Results:

permanent. From 3rd week, defined after 6 to 8 months.
