Endoscopic Forehead Rejuvenation (frontal area surgery)

Procedure:

minimizes forehead wrinkles, fixes eyebrows fall, and smooths glabella wrinkles (between the eyes and above the nose) through the repositioning of structures in the region around the eyes and treatment of the muscles responsible for wrinkles. Usually done through endoscopy, which uses video camera to perform the surgery.

Duration:

1 to 2 hours.

Anesthesia:

local with sedation, general in some cases.

Hospital admission:

Usually 1 day, occasional discharge on the same day.

Side effects:

temporary swelling and pain, numbing, headaches and feeling of stretched tissue.

Risks:

nerve injury causing loss of movement and forehead asymmetry. Infection, inadequate scarring, temporary loss of hair.

Recovery:

return to work in 2 weeks, possibly sooner.

Physical activities (sports):

2 to 3 weeks.

Reduction of swelling and bruises:

2 to 3 weeks.

Sun Exposure:

several months.
