Procedure:
models abdomen through the removal of excess fat and skin, treatment of flabby muscles and localized fat liposuction.
Duration:
2 to 5 hours.
Anesthesia:
epidural with sedation or general in some cases.
Hospital admission:
Usually 1 day, depending on the extension of the surgery.
Side effects:
temporary swelling, pain, abdominal skin numbing or hypersensitivity, bruises, tiredness for a few weeks.
Risks:
formation of blood clots (thrombosis). Inadequate scarring or skin necrosis (more in smokers). Infection (diabetics).
Recovery:
return to work in 2 to 3 weeks.
Physical activities (sports):
4 to 6 weeks or more. Improvement on the appearance of scars: from 6th month, changes until 2 years.
Driving:
2 weeks.
Results:
from 3rd month, defining between 6 to 8 months.
