Rhinoplasty (nose plastic surgery)

Procedure:

changes the shape of the nose by reducing or increasing its size. It can remove the nose hump, reshape the tip, make nostrils narrower and even change the angle between your nose and upper lip. It can improve breathing at the same time.

Duration:

1 to 3 hours.

Anesthesia:

local with sedation, general in some cases.

Hospital admission:

Discharge usually on the same day, sometimes later.

Side effects:

temporary swelling and pain around of the eyes and nose and headache. Possible bleeding. Inability to breathe through the nose if you use nasal tampon (when septoplasty is necessary).

Risks:

nosebleed after tampon removal, infection (rare), asymmetries or imperfections which require additional surgery.

Recovery:

return to work in 1 to 2 weeks.

Physical activities (sports) or with risk of nose trauma:

4 to 6 weeks.

Sun exposure:

3 months.

Wearing Eyeglasses:

2 months.

Results:

permanent. Appear after 1 year or more.
